Life, Books, and More to Come

Updated: Oct 9

Introduction

It's now February 2024 a week before Valentine's Day when writing this post and I haven't posted anything on my blog in exactly a year. In this blog post, I'll be discussing why I haven't posted, books I've read in 2023, and 2024 goals and TBR.

Life has been Life-ing

I apologize for being so late with... I went back to school. I started to take classes to boost my GPA to be able to get into this Master's Program.

I've been posting on Instagram. My first post of this year was my 2023 Wrap-Up. I read 15 books and I was so shocked I read more than 5-10 books.

Books I've Read in 2023

5 stars

I don't ususally rate memoris, but growing up watching iCarly and Sam and Cat. I absolutely loved Sam Puckett and love Jennette to the bottom of my heart, especially when she started her music career, and reading about the strugle with her mom and the Director, a disgustin man, and I feel like reading what happened behind the scenes and have a better understanding of Jennette's life, I felt sad, but relieved for Jennette that she's no longer under that control and getting the help she needs.

4.5 stars

I re-read The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch and it was really good when I was kid and it still was. We Have Always Lived in the Castle, I thought it was good. I haven't watched the movie yet.

3 stars

This was a book club pick and I honestly wish we didn't read this book, it was very predictable. The only character I liked was the baby who was barely in the book.

2024 Goals and TBR

This year, I'm going to put into a plan to post more on all of my socials. I'm working on posting life content, books review when I'm officially done with a book, wrap-ups, and maybe TBR posts, I don't know yet.

This year I'm going to try to read 15 books again, like last year. I'm raising the bar pretty high for me since I'm a mood reader, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm currently trying to do an 8-hour reading challenge. I messed up already. I accidentally ended the timer and I don't remember what time I was on. I might start the challenge over or do a 24-hour challenge. I don't yet, it's in the works.

The books I want to read this year are :

  1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

  2. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

  3. Alice by Christina Henry

  4. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

  5. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

  6. Peak by Roland Smith

  7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

  8. Legacy of Seven by PJ Flie

  9. Wildseed Witch by Marti Dumas

  10. Marry Me by Midnight by Felicia Gross man

  11. Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

  12. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

  13. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

  14. Curvy Girls Can't Date Quartbacks by Kelsie Stelting

  15. The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

I did start This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp and I'm not liking it how I did 4 years ago. I do understand that it happens when re-reading a book, so I decided to DNF it for now when I'm in the right headspace for it.

I'll see you guys in a book review whenever that will. b, probably the end of the month who knows. See you guys!
