Happy New Year! Goodbye 2024!
Hey, hi, hello, everyone! 2024 is over and it's almost a whole week by the time I'm writing this post. It's Wednesday, January 8th. I do apologize for not being more consistent last year; grad school along with trying to read and work on my werewolf story was stressing and burning me out!
I was going to do a wrap-up in this post but decided to keep it strictly a lifestyle post so here are some highlights of 2024 for me.
September
In September, a lot has happened. My personal life was stressful, but I got through it.
To have a rest, my job was giving out tickets to the State Fair, so on September 7, my cousin, mom, and I went. I never actually went to a State Fair. Why? Honestly, I can’t tell you, I probably wasn’t interested but I’m glad I went.
Before we went there, for breakfast I made pancakes, eggs, and turkey sausage patties. I had too many eggs because I thought I’d be able to handle it, but nope.
When my cousin and I went on the ride that was shaped like a pirate ship and went back and forth, we were having fun, but those extra eggs weren’t agreeing with me. I ended up feeling sick, but I powered through.
We got pretzels to calm down my stomach and it did help for a bit, then we went on more rides. After riding the Ferris wheel, my cousin and I got turkey legs which tasted like ham. I think they wrapped ham in turkey, and it was pretty good. I would totally go back next year.
October
In October, there was a Halloween party at work. In 2023, I didn’t have much money to buy a costume, so I looked around in my closet and got my overalls, my red Converse shirt, and white marching band gloves, and decided Mario was who I was going to be. I did buy a Mario hat from Amazon, but that was it. I couldn’t get a mustache since it wouldn’t get to me in time. I didn’t win the costume contest and that’s okay.
In 2024, I was trying to figure out what I should be. I bought fake blood for my forensic class and decided maybe to be a vampire. Went to Party City with my mom to try to find something - there wasn’t much in the store, typical, there was a witch’s hat, fangs, and other costumes that would fit me. I also found a necklace.
I decided to become a vampire witch, my coworkers thought I was a witch vampire, but a vampire witch sounds so much better. I did not win the costume contest, but I still had a great time.
December
Before Christmas, there was another office party. We had brunch - waffles and omelets…. It was so good! We played games, here’s a clip of one of the games we played. I lost as you can see, but it was fun. I hope we do it again.
Christmas was good, I got many gifts I wanted, especially a Kindle. I’m finally a part of the group now. During Christmas with my folks, my mom asked if I wanted to celebrate my birthday with my cousins and I tried to plan with them, but I was just mentally exhausted at the time and getting stressed out with planning since it was a very short window, being my birthday was on January 11. A week before my birthday I told my cousins we’re going to do something big for my 30th instead and they agreed.
January 11, 2025
My birthday! I took off work on that Friday since my birthday was Saturday. My mom and I went to the casino and it was so eye-opening. I can see how people can become addicted to gambling. I did win $14.25 so I guess I’m $14.25 richer.
I wasn’t able to take a picture inside which I understood and gonna follow the rules, so after that, my mom and I went to get pizza from this place called Cold Fire Pizza Grill. It was really good, hopefully, we can try them again. After that, we went to Cold Stone as I wanted a shake. I decided to get cookie dough. It was really good, I would definitely try that again.
