April - June Wrap Up

Updated: Jul 11

So, it's been a while since I last posted, and I'm sorry about that, been busy with life and I'll give a short life update because you came here for the reading.

I graduate from college two months ago, here are a couple of pictures from that day.

Yeah, I am so excited to start my journey into the adult world if you want to say.

Another thing is my lovely betta fish, Hank is dying of old age. He is still here so I'm really glad that I only had him since August of last year so not long, but hey he got through when the pandemic was at an all-time high, but anyway onto the three month wrap up.

I read Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Here is the link for that review:

Everything, Everything Review and the other book/graphic novel was The Old Guard #1 by Greg Rucka.

Rating: 5/5 stars

I first heard about this graphic novel after watching the Netflix movie and then went on Youtube to see if there was any commentary video talking about this action packed movie. While watching the videos I found out it was a graphic novel and I had to get my hands on it and I started looking everywhere for it - either at a good price or hopefully get it for free. Thankfully, iBooks had it for free.

The Old Guard is about a group of mercenaries, all centuries-old immortals with the ability to heal themselves, discover someone is onto their secret, and they must fight to protect their freedom. I couldn't find a good description of what exactly this graphic novel series is about since Google and iBooks are not being helpful, I had to use the movie's description.

I loved the movie so much and after reading The Old Guard, I loved how Netflix took each character and made everyone come to life. Not many book to movie adaptation goes well and I have to say it went really well with the content. I know I haven't read the entire series, but when I get the money to buy more books, you know I'm going to be buying the entire series.

I know when I'm posting this it's going to towards the end of July, sorry I meant to post this weeks ago, but life gets in the way and it happens. For the rest of July until September I will be reading these books here:

  1. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

  2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

  3. Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

  4. Lovely War by Julie Berry

I made a NetGalley account after watching a bunch of booktubers and I got interested being able to read arcs and write reviews on it. I will be writing reviews on the books I've read on there probably when it comes out and not before just so it's far to everyone.

Hope everyone is having a great summer and great reading summer. See you guys soon!
